'Migrate' was established in 2008 in Brisbane (Australia) by Aleyda Pérez (our current Migration Director) and Alejandro Soto (our current Studies Abroad Director).
Our organization began as a small education agency under the name of 'Australian Engagement – Education Consultants', which focused in offering study programs and high quality services in Australia mainly to Latin American students. Thus, after operating successfully and growing constantly for 9 years, at the end of 2016 Australian Engagement became 'Migrate' as a result of the integration of migration services to our portfolio.
Thanks to our high standards in customer service and our ethical approach, our agency has shown a continuous growth over the years. This includes the opening of an office in Bogotá (Colombia) in 2010 and other offices in Medellin and Pereira (Colombia) in 2019, as well as the establishment of an international agent network in different cities of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, among other countries.
Migrate takes pride in counting with a valuable team of highly skilled migration and education agents, living in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and other countries, who share our solid ethical and social principles, as well as our excellent standard of consultancy and customer service.
The team is currently headed by their co-founders, Aleyda Pérez and Alejandro Soto.
Aleyda Pérez is a migration agent, registered before the Australian Office of Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA) with registration number 1686519.
Aleyda has 12 years of experience in the International education sector, in roles that include: Latin American Partnerships Manager in Queensland University. She has a specialization in Australian Migration Law and Practice, as well as two master degrees from Australian Universities, including one in international relations.
She is our current Migration Director. She also leads 'Wellbeing for Communities', our non-profit organization. In this position, Aleyda has managed projects aimed to contribute to the wellbeing of vulnerable communities, both in Colombia and Australia.
Alejandro Soto is a qualified education agent (QEAC G227) and business manager, with a strong interest in corporate social responsibility. In 2002, as part of his undergraduate program, he completed a theoretical research about Colombian corporate social responsibility. Since then, he has implemented his findings in his corporate practices and in the creation of new businesses.
He has over 10 years of experience as education agent certified by PIER (Professional International Education Resources) and currently he is the Director of our department of Studies Abroad and co-founder of ‘Wellbeing for Communities’. Alejandro has a high student visa acceptance rate by the Australian Department of Home Affairs (around 1500 in 2020), visas that have been assisted by him. Alejandro attained the transformation from a small agency into a business of continued growth. He is also the strategist behind the growth planning and the new corporate image of our agency, which is focused on the process automation, new global partners and social responsibility actions.
